摘      要:正Twelve wool scouring mills in Australia,China and India were surveyed as part of an environmental project and their performances were compared. In this paper one of the Chinese scours that is typical of the majority of plants in China has been compared with several of the topmaking mills from *** scouring lines were compared in terms of the physical layout, modes of operation, use of contaminant recovery systems, wastewater treatment, overall scouring performance and topmaking performance. The most critical difference between the two scouring systems was the shape and length of the scouring *** cross-sectional shape of the bowls is probably the most important factor in influencing the operation of the wool scour in terms of water use, contaminant recovery and hence the characteristics of the effluent being discharged for subsequent treatment. Apart from the bowls, the Chinese system is characterized both by the absence of a weigh belt to control the feed rate into the scour and by the use of a wet feed hopper followed by a brattice dryer. The differences in the operation of the scours is *** most importance is the function of the *** mill surveys showed that a bowl had one of six *** were desuint(cold),desuint(hot), scouring(conventional),scouring(pseudo),scouring(standing),and *** functions of a typical Chinese line were a combination of desuint(hot),scouring(standing)and rinsing whereas for an Australian line they were desuint(cold),scouring(conventional)and rinsing. The spot efficiency of the batch-wise wool wax recovery from the Chinese scours was better then the continuous systems used in ***,the overall recovery of wool wax was considerably less. Both the Chinese and Australian mills use an end-of-pipe approach to wastewater treatment in that all the effluent streams are combined before being *** Chinese mills use a combination of chemical and biological treatments whereas most of the Austra
