Identification of Rf gene conferring fertility restorers of CMS-Dian Type 1 in rice (Oryza sativa L.) with SSR markers based on advanced inbred lines

摘      要:A total of 258 advanced inbred lines, including maintainers and restorers generated in breeding program for development of japonica hybrid rice based on cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) of Dian-type 1, were used to detect major gene conferring fertility restoration of the CMS system. A gene, conferring fertility restoration for the CMS system, was detected by microsatellite markers on chromosome 10. The gene, designated as Rf-D1(t) temporally, was located between two SSR markers, OSR33 and RM228, and genetic distances of the markers to the gene were 3.4 cM and 5.0 cM, respectively. The linkages were confinned with 118 segregants of an F2 population derived from a cross between a CMS line crossed with a restorer of Dian Type 1. The research results also demonstrated that the restorer identification with OSR33 were not only reliable but also economical.
