Diversity of genus Amphorotia(Bacillariophyta) in the Pearl River delta, China

摘 要：The genus Amphorotia was established by Williams and Reid(2006)to accommodate a group of diatoms formerly allocated to Eunotia *** new genus was shown to display a distinct biogeographical distribution,from boreal lakes to subtropical coastal regions,but all located around the Pacific *** increase the knowledge of this genus,especially in China,a taxonomic investigation of Amphorotia in the Pearl River delta area was *** than 700 sediment samples from 8 boreholes collected by Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey during the last decade were *** were extracted from unconsolidated sediments using a special concentration *** data derived from both light(LM)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)are used to characterize the *** on these observations,6 species(Amphorotia asiatica,***,***,***,***,and ***.)are recognized and their descriptions are ***,we provide an emended description of Amphorotia curvata Williams&Reid,and establish its *** is similar to the Siberian taxon Amphorotia lacusbaikali(Skvortzov)Williams&Reid when observed with LM,but can be distinguished by ultrastructural details observed with *** burial depths of these species are about 24～33 m,indicating their occurrences in this region spanned only a very short period,around 9 ka *** to the AMS 14C dating data.
