NITROGEN SOURCES AND EXPORT IN AGRICULTURAL CATCHMENTS:A NESTED CATCHMENT COMPARISON

摘 要：In this study,an experimental agricultural catchment of Wuchuan,with an area of 9.4km,and a nested smallcatchment,with an area of 1.7 km,were selected for investigating nitrogen(N)sources and export in *** that the mean N input rate over the big catchment was 471.5kg/ha,and 421.4kg/ha over the small one in *** portion of the N entered the catchment was not eventually applied to surface soil of agricultural *** N fromanimal manure and domestic wastes was deposited partially in the residential lands of the three villages,or volatilized ***,a high N input rate was observed in the residential lands of the three villages and the river *** N export rate from the big catchment in stormflows was 28.8 kg/ha in 2002,compared to a smaller value of 26.8kg/ha from the nested *** is obvious that the bigger N export rate from the large catchment resulted from both the largerwater flows and the higher N concentration through the *** the N sources and export in these catchmentscan provide a knowledge base for remediation of agricultural diffuse pollution.
