摘      要:Composite materials are gaining enormous interests in applications,due to its low weight,high strength and ease in adapting almost any *** is becoming more popular in transportation ***,marine and automotive *** current studies,an alternative design for leaf spring of Suzuki Mehran is investigated,to be replaced with composite *** conventional leaf spring of Mehran is a 3 leafs metal model made of 50 Cr *** scope of this work is to analyze the conventional model for static and dynamic loading *** was done through FEM in Ansys *** the static analysis,a case was considered,when the vehicle is cursing at a speed of 50 m/s,and turning in circular plane road of radius 10 *** developed in the spring under these conditions are included in this *** dynamic loading condition,stress analysis was conducted for the case when the vehicle is moving over a road *** a damping analysis was also carried out to fine the influence of friction coefficient on the damping characteristic,influence of frequency on the damping characteristic and finally the influence of amplitude on the damping *** second part of the study is to develop optimization framework,to reduce the weight of the spring by employing a carbon fiber based composite *** part of the study was done using Ansys model composite modelling called Ansys *** Parameters were created for the “number of composite layups,and respective fiber *** objective was to find an optimum combination of these design variables with objective function to reduce the overall weight of the spring constrained with the stiffness and failure of the fiber.10 candidate s points were identified and recorded here for reference.
