摘      要：This research will deal with the term of modern volunteerism and how it takes effect in *** is important to notify that volunteerism wears different shapes in different *** the history,western world has deeply researched the topic of volunteerism,its meanings and how it comes into ***,this topic was irrelevant in China until just recent years,because of the nature of the socialist state and the reliability of the government on itself *** the last ten years,events like the 2008 Sichuan mega-earthquake,the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and 2010 Shanghai World Expo influenced the rapid growth of the widespread volunteering phenomenon all over the modern Chinese *** events led the government into understanding that in some cases the help of the citizens is much *** research will seek to understand the modern public perception of volunteerism in the context of China,and to answer the question of how does Chinese culture affects the understanding of modern *** research question was examined through Hofstede model of national culture and Meijs theory regarding modern public perception of volunteerism,which both are world leading researchers in the ***,this research used a mix-methods approach of quantitative and qualitative sections in order to deepen the depth of the *** study will focus on the city of Shanghai and will try to examine diversified Chinese society as *** to the findings,firstly it can be argued that modern Chinese society as a whole are much more obligated to their counterparts in society,and to the ideals of ***,modern public perception of volunteerism in China is becoming similar to western societies studied by Meijs,and being perceived in terms of cost and benefit of each volunteering ***,the Chinese society perceives the benefits of volunteering in a different way than in western societies,and things that will be regarded
