摘      要：1. The Widal test may be improved by about 10 per cent when an O emulsion of B. typhosus is used.2. Titres over 1 in 80 are significant when Ty 901 O suspension is used.3. The standard Widal technique using H suspension alone may cause erroneous diagnosis in nearly 20 per cent of cases.4. It is important that hospitals and diagnostic laboratories use the O antigen especially in places where facilities for blood culture are lacking.
