摘      要：1. Seven cases of the primary familial degeneration of the corneae are described.2. These seven cases fall into two distinct clinical groups: Three of them belong to the Groenouw’s type of the nodular degeneration, two of these are seen in two sisters. Four cases closely correspond to the Fleischer’s type, where the opacities are mostly in the form of little rings.3. Pathological examination of a trephined piece from one of the Greonouw’s type shows a transformation of the superficial lamellae of the cornea into homogeneous substance, probably hyaline.4. One of the cases reveals a disturbance of the thyroid gland with palpitation, acceleration of the pulse, and enlargement of the thyroid gland. Two of the cases show an early general deposition of fat at puberty.5. The pathogenicity of the disease may be due to a disturbance of the nurtrition resulting from a local upset of the metabolism of the cornea.
