摘      要：English borrows a lot of words from other languages. Chinese and Japanese loanwords in English have a deep cultural and historical background. This paper makes a comparative analysis of Chinese and Japanese loanwords in English based on the OED, concluding their amounts, naturalization process,the characteristics of word formation and so forth.
