摘      要：GUILIN City in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is a hot tourist destination among both domestic and international travelers. Tourism has been the city＇s pillar industry for quite some time. But, as other tourism-oriented cities Suzhou and Hangzhou have also discovered, tourism alone is not enough to support a city or a region＇s economic structure. It is therefore imperative that Guilin optimizes and upgrades its industrial structure, raises the local economy＇s overall quality and pushes its industrial process forward. Under the principle of “establishing the city through tourism, and strengthening the city through industry,Guilin is changing with the times and developing into a new industrial city with an emphasis on high-tech enterprises.
