摘 要：As history opens a new chapter, China enters a new stage of its population development. Over the last three decades, China has substantially restructured its population as a result of carrying out a rigid family planning program. This Population,and Development Forum is designed to look backward as well as forward China’s population policy, to draw lessons from the past practices and experiences, so as to better rationalize the making or improving the future policy. The invited contributors have written on such topics as policy evolution and the consequences, critique of the one-child policy, the best time for policy transfer, and future prospects of China’s population.
