摘      要:This paper present some experiments results of optical bistability of ZnS interference filters designed and fabricated in our laboratary at wavelength of Ar laser(514nm).The resuits show that the minimum switching power could be reduced to 7.5mW through optimization of filter structures with focused laser beam of 60um in diameter. The relative drift of switching power of less than 15% was observed for a duration of an hour. The uniform area,which is defined by the 10% fluctuation of switching power, could be 20×20 mm. The dependence of the performance in bistability on the modulating frequency and peak power has been studied experimental and theoretically with a modulator consisted of two polarizers. And it’s found that the higher modulating frequency or peak power could cause higher switching power. The experiments on the relationship of the switching power and the intensity of irradiance beam were also carried out with an acousto-optic modulator. Finally the experimental results of bistable switching by using two counter-propagating focused laser beams are represented.
