摘 要:In this article the calculation formulae of rectangular and triangular grating couplerare derived by the equivalent current theory of optical waveguide coupling as proposedby the present author. By these formulae we can design and calculate grating couplersmore conveniently and easily than those presented in the past articles, and can directlyestimate the characteristics of grating couplers. Our derivations also prove that the equiva-lent current theory of optical waveguide coupling is very useful for solving the couplingproblem of optical waveguide.
