摘 要:Naudascher has suggested a flow-induced vioration model for the entrance plate gate with edge leaks leading to a closed water tunnel. This paper, using the hydraulic principle and system analysis, accounts the turbulent leakage force behind the gate equivalent to the fluctuations of the velocity-squared head losses and obtains the criterion conditions of stability for the model. Example calculations are carried out for four cases: gate in translational or rotational vibrations and tunnel with or without a surge tank. The liability to vibration at small gate openings and its inevitability on the occasion of vertical edge leak are indicated. Characteristic roots are also computed for the four cases, giving frequencies and damping coefficients of the vibrations.
