摘      要：In the approaching three years since Christmas, 2003, more than 220,000 people lost their lives as a result of the Bam-Iran earthquake, the Sumatra tsunami and the Muzaffarabad-Pakistan earthquake. The earthquake in Pakistan on the morning of October 8, 2005, which hit Azad Kashmir and the adjoining Hazara Division of North West Frontier Province, resulted in nearly 85,000 fatalities and left more than 3.5 million people homeless. The entire infrastructure of the region was destroyed.
