INTRODUCTIONStudies on the neurosuperpositional compound eyes of the Dipterans, especially on those of the housefly, have been increasingly useful in optics, behavioral science, neurophysiology and biocybernetics. No report on the structure of the compound eye in the horsefly Tabanus mandarinus is found yet.
