“隋琉璃、玛瑙围棋子”考辨

摘      要：In 1986, a batch of cone-shaped glass and agata objects were unearthed at the stupa tomb of Sui dynasty in the eastern suburbs of Xi’an city and were called chessman.But the author found this name doesn’t tally with the historical facts after years of painstakingly study of ancient documents, other unearthed objects and ancient paintings etc. He made a textual critcism to the established name, and concluded that the proper name for those glass and agate should be Shuanglu (双陆) (similar to Chinese draughtsmen).
