摘 要：One of the reasons why human language is by nature distinct from animal language lies in that human language can produce language arts,one of which is *** the American sitcom2 Broke Girls as the context and Grice’s Cooperative Principle(CP)as the theoretical framework,this paper conducts a qualitative research of humor with some extracts of conversation from the sitcom,in an attempt to verify the hypothesis whether violation of the CP may lead to production of *** finding of the research justifies the particular hypothesis that there exists causal relationship between violation of the CP and production of humor.
