摘 要:Time is one of the most prominent factors that affect different cultures’ communication. Confucianism and Christianity have their unique views of time and have a great influence on China and America. Confucianism thinks that time is valuable and flexible and it is past-oriented in time orientation. In contrast, Christianity thinks that time is valuable and linear and it is future-oriented in time orientation. This paper will attempt to discuss Confucianism’s view of time in contrast with Christianity’s view of time and their influence on China and America, which may help people understand Confucianism’s and Christianity’s View of Time as well as Chinese and American time orientation to help people from these two cultures communicate better.
