摘 要:Treatment of aromatic α-hydroxy ketones with an activated Ti(O) reagent, prepared by reduction of TiCl_3 with a Zn-Cu couple, effects an intermolecular coupling reaction leading to the (Z)-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrarvl-2-butene and (E, E)-1, 2, 3, 4,-tetraryl-1, 3-butadiene. A possible reaction mechanism was proposed.
